Alfred John North: was an Australian ornithologist.North was born in Melbourne and was educated at Melbourne Grammar School. He was appointed to the Australian Museum, Sydney in 1886 and was given a permanent position there five years later. He wrote a List of the Insectivorous Birds of New South Wales (1897) and a Descriptive Catalogue of the Nests and Eggs of Birds Found Breeding in Australia and Tasmania (1889). He described a number of birds for the first time, many in the Victorian Naturalist, the magazine of the Field Naturalists Club of Victoria of which he was a founding member.

Alfred Hermann Traeger: was an Australian inventor, chiefly known for the development of the pedal radio.[1]He was instrumental in the establishment and early success of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. Traeger had an interest in radio for much of his life. During the 1920s, he was contacted by Rev John Flynn to assist in experiments which were to enable remote families access to medical treatment by using radio equipment. Since much of remote Australia had no access to electricity, the initial problem was how to provide reliable power to a radio. Traeger consequently developed a pedal generator to power a morse code wireless set.

Jean Alfred: is a former politician in Quebec, Canada. He was a member of the National Assembly of Quebec as a member of the Parti Québécois from 1976 to 1981. In 1975, he was elected as a councilor for the former city of Gatineau and later entered provincial politics where he was elected in Papineau as a Parti Québécois candidate. He served a full term as a PQ and Independent member but was defeated in the newly formed riding of Chapleau which portions were split from Gatineau and Papineau. He was a candidate again in 1989, but lost to the Liberal, John Kehoe. He made a brief attempt at federal politics but failed to become a Bloc Québécois prior to the 1997 elections.
