Akiko Motofuji: was born in Tokyo. From her childhood she studied ballet and modern dance. In 1947 she became a Nobutoshi Tsuda dancing principal , and she established Asbestos Studio in 1950. In 1955 International Dancing Contest held in Vienna she won 4th prize for individual performance section. She met with Tatsumi Hijikata in 1956 , and started to perform on stage together , searching for the new expression way , by using ballet and Neue Tanz technique, on the basis of Butoh, original expression which gazes at body and soul severely. And they got married later. She's back to the stages in 1992 performing the piece "Together with Tatsumi Hijikata" , after that she makes great works one after another, her original world , showing a colorful field such as,

Akiko Itoyama: a Japanese novelist, who won the 134th Akutagawa Prize.After graduation from Shinjuku High School and the Faculty of Political Science and Economics,Waseda University, she worked as a saleswoman for a major household equipment company and, as is common in Japanese corporate life, was transferred several times to various localities. Treatment for cyclic psychosis led to her writing.Her works, which focus on human relations, have been nominated for and received literary awards. She was recipient of the 96th Bungakukai New Face Award and a nominee for the 129th Akutagawa Prize by her first volume "It's only talk" in 2003. After three consecutive nominations, she finally won the Akutagawa Prize January 2006.
