A contemporary Indigenous Australian author.[citation needed]Anita Heiss is from the Wiradjuri people though she grew up in and lives in Sydney.[1] Her mother was brought up in a Catholic mission and her father is originally from Austria.[2] She grew up in the suburb of Matraville and attended St Clare's College.
