Humayun Abdulali: was an Indian ornithologist, and a cousin of Salim Ali. He started with bird egg collection and shikar. Charles McCann said of him that 'he know something about everything.' While studying Zoology at St Xavier's college in Bombay he put together a collection of birds from Bombay which led to the publication of a six part series on the Birds of Bombay and Salsette in the Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society (1936-1939) co authored by Salim Ali. His first publication was in 1931 on 'Eleven Koel eggs in a crows nest'. He published 348 notes in his lifetime and his greatest contribution was the cataloguing of the specimens in the collection of the BNHS. Humayun Azad: was a prolific Bangladeshi author and scholar. He wrote more than seventy titles. He was widely known for his anti-establishment, anti-religion and anti-military voice and was reputed for caustic remarks.Towards the end of 1980s he started to write newspaper column focusing on contemporary socio-political issues. His commentaries continued throughout the 1990s and were later published as books as they grew in numbers. Humayun Rasheed Choudhury: was a career diplomat and speaker of the Bangladesh National Parliament (1996-2001). Humayun Rashid Choudhury was born in Sylhet on 11 November 1928. He was elected president of the 41st session of the UN General Assembly in 1986. Mr. Choudhury was fluent in Bengali, English, Urdu, French and Italian, and had a working knowledge of Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Indonesian. He died in Dhaka on 10 July 2001.[1]
