Athar Ali Khan: is a former Bangladeshi cricketer. A right-handed batsman, he played 19 one-day internationals scoring 532 runs at an average of 29.55 with a highest score of 82. In October 1988, he was Bangladesh's best performer in the Wills Asia Cup at Dhaka. He scored 16 against India, 22 against Pakistan & 30 against Sri Lanka.Then on the final day of 1990, he entertained the huge 50,000 crowd at Eden Garden, Calcutta with 78* against Sri Lanka. His innings included three huge sixes. Although Bangladesh lost the match, Athar was adjudeged the Man-of-the-Match. He studied Public Administration at Dhaka University. He is related (through his marriage) to the well known TV actor Tauqir Ahmed.

Athar Ali: is a Pakistani Norwegian have represented the Norwegian political party Red. He served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Oslo during the term 1993–1997. He was the first non-Western immigrant to meet as a parliamentary representative; the first to get elected as a regular representative was Afshan Rafiq. Ali was a member of Oslo municipality council from 1987 to 1995 and 1999 to 2003. He is founder and head of Norwegian Immigrants Forum. Athar Ali is graduate in Socialwork. He works as a clinical socialworker.

Masha'allah Ibn Athari: was an eighth century Persian Jewish[1] astrologer and astronomer from the city of Basra (now located in modern day Iraq) who became the leading astrologer of the late 8th century[2]. The Arabic phrase ma sha`a allah indicates acceptance of what God has ordained in terms of good or ill fortune that may befall a believer. His name is usually Latinized as Messala or Messahalla. The crater Messala on the Moon is named after him.
