Laleh Bijani: They were born in Shiraz, a city in southwest Iran, to Dadollah Bijani and Maryam Safari, members of a farming family from Lohrasb. The Bijani sisters were lost in a hospital in 1979 after the doctors responsible for them fled back to the United States during the Islamic revolution. The Bijanis' parents did not find the sisters again until several years later in Karaj, where Dr. Alireza Safaian adopted them. Even though Dadollah Bijani won the custody against Safaian, the sisters chose to spend their childhood with Safaian.They faced some difficulties because of their conjoined nature. Since they had to study together, they needed to choose a common career path. Ladan wanted to be a lawyer, while Laleh wished to become a journalist; in the end, they settled on Ladan's choice.

Laleh Pourkarim: an Iranian-Swedish singer-songwriter. She came to Sweden when she was 12 and went to school in Angered, Gothenburg. Before that she had lived in Azerbaijan and Minsk, Belarus[1]. She personally produced and wrote her 2005 self-titled debut album, in which she sang in three different languages: English, Swedish and Persian. At the Swedish Grammis Awards for 2005, she received seven nominations and won three: Artist of the Year, Producer of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.

Laleh Mehree Bakhtiar: is an Iranian-American Muslim author and translator. She has translated and written a combination of 25 books about Islam, including The Sublime Quran, an English translation of the Qur'an[1]—her translation of the Qur'an was the first ever by an American woman.[2] Her work specifically seeks to bridge understanding between non-Muslims and Muslims.She was born in New York City[1]. As of 2007, she lives in Chicago.
