Eleonora Duse: was an Italian actress, often known simply as Duse.Eleonora Duse was born in Vigevano, Lombardy, and entered acting (her family's profession) as a child. Both her father and her grandfather were actors, and she joined the troupe at age four. Due to poverty, she initially worked continually, traveling from city to city with whichever troupe her family was currently engaged. She came to fame in Italian versions of rôles made famous by Sarah Bernhardt. She gained her first major success in Europe, then toured South America, Russia and the United States; beginning the tours as a virtual unknown but leaving in her wake a general recognition of her genius.

Eleonora Rossi Drago: was an Italian film actress. She was born in Quinto al Mare, Genoa, Italy. She had the leading role in Michelangelo Antonioni's Le amiche. She worked with Pietro Germi in Un maledetto imbroglio. In 1960, for her performance in Valerio Zurlini's Estate violenta she won the best actress prize of the Mar del Plata Film Festival and Silver Ribbon. In 1964, she appeared in an adaptation of A. J. Cronin's novel, The Citadel. She died in Palermo, Italy.

Ulrika Eleonora Of Denmark: was the Queen consort of Sweden as the spouse of King Charles XI of Sweden. Ulrika was the daughter of King Frederick III of Denmark and his wife Queen Sophie Amalie of Brunswick-Lüneburg. In 1675 she was bethrothed to King Charles XI of Sweden. During the Scanian War between Denmark and Sweden in 1675–1679 she was encouraged to break the engagement and was considered as a possible bride by the Holy Roman Emperor, Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor, but she refused to do so. She gained a reputation for loyalty to her future home country by exhibiting kindness to Swedish prisoners during the war of 1675–79: she pawned her jewelry, even her engagement ring, to care for the Swedish prisoners of war.
