Theodore Meir Bikel: an Academy Award- and Tony Award-nominated character actor, folk singer and musician. He made his film debut in The African Queen (1951) and was nominated for an Academy award for his role as the Southern Sheriff in The Defiant Ones (1958).On Broadway he originated the role of Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music in 1959, for which he received his second Tony nomination. In 1964, he played Zoltan Karpathy, the dialect expert, in the film version of My Fair Lady. Since his first appearance as Tevye in the musical Fiddler on the Roof in 1967, Bikel has performed the role more often than any other actor (2094 times to date).

Theodore Puck: was an American geneticist born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Chicago public schools and obtained his bachelors and masters degree from the University of Chicago.Puck was an early pioneer of "somatic cell genetics" and single-cell plating ( i.e. "cloning" .) This work allowed the genetics of human and other mammalian cells to be studied in detail. Pucks key work ultimately made modern genetics, such as the human genome and other mammalian genome projects, possible.Puck made many basic discoveries in several areas. His team which found that humans had 46 chromosomes rather than 48 which had earlier been believed. He developed the CHO cell line from chinese hamster ovarian cells for this work. These cells are still widely utilized in the biopharmaceutical industry. Puck studied X-rays and cellular mutations. He also isolated and studied cellular mutations.

Theodore Roszak: was an American sculptor and painter. He was born in Poznan, Prussia (German Empire) as a son of Polish parents, and emigrated at a young age to the United States. From 1925 to 1926 he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, In 1930 he wins the Logan Medal of the arts, then moved to New York City to take classes at the National Academy of Design and at Columbia University, where he studied logic and philosophy before going back to Chicago to teach at the Art Institute. He taught at Sarah Lawrence College throughout the 1940s and 1950s. He was participating artist at the documenta II in Kassel 1959. Roszak's sculpture, at first closer to Constructivism and displaying an industrial aesthetic, changed after around 1946 to a more expressionistic style. Roszak was also an accomplished violinist, and liked to use musical references in his artworks. Roszak died in New York City, where he lived.

Theodore Von Kármán: was a Hungarian-German-American engineer and physicist who was active primarily in the fields of aeronautics and astronautics. He is personally responsible for many key advances in aerodynamics, notably his work on supersonic and hypersonic airflow characterization.In 1944 he and others affiliated with GALCIT founded the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which is now a Federally funded research and development center managed and operated by Caltech under a contract from NASA. In 1946 he became the first chairman of the Scientific Advisory Group which studied aeronautical technologies for the United States Army Air Forces. He also helped found AGARD, the NATO aerodynamics research oversight group (1951), the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (1956), the International Academy of Astronautics (1960), and the Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics in Brussels (1956).
