Stewart Johnson: is a former professional basketball player. A 6'8" forward/center from Murray State University, Johnson was selcted by the New York Knicks in the second round of the 1966 NBA Draft. However, Johnson never played in the NBA, joining the rival American Basketball Association instead. He played nine seasons (1967-1976) in the ABA with seven different franchises, including the San Diego Conquistadors, Memphis Sounds, Baltimore Claws and San Diego Sails. In his ABA career Johnson scored 10,538 career points. He also made three ABA All-Star Game appearances, twice as a member of the San Diego Conquistadors and once as a member of the Memphis Sounds.

He served as Minister of Highways until the fall of the government in 1934. In the 1934 election he ran as a Conservative, but lost to the Liberal candidate, Vincent Reynolds Smith. He was re-elected in 1938 under the Unity party, serving until 1944. Stewart was elected as a Liberal to the House of Commons representing the federal riding of Yorkton, serving as a member of the Liberal government led by Louis St. Laurent from 1949 to 1953.

John David "Dave" Stewart: was a businessperson and political figure in Prince Edward Island. He represented 5th Queens in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1960 to 1966 and 6th Queens from 1966 to 1970 as a Conservative. Stewart was a member of the city council for Charlottetown and was mayor from 1951 to 1958. He served in the province's Executive Council as provincial secretary and Minister of Tourist Development and Municipal Affairs. He was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1970. Stewart died in Charlottetown at the age of 78.

William Snodgrass Stewart: was a lawyer, judge and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 5th Queens in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1912 to 1914 as a Conservative. He studied law with Frederick Peters, was called to the bar in 1883 and set up practice in Summerside. Stewart later moved to Charlottetown. In 1892, he married Annie Augusta, the daughter of Henry Beer. Stewart ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1893 and 1908 and for a seat in the House of Commons in 1900. Stewart served in the province's Executive Council as a minister without portfolio from 1912 to 1914. He resigned his seat in that year after he was named a judge for Queens County. In 1920, he was named to the Admiralty Court. Stewart retired from the bench in 1930. He was mayor of Charlottetown from 1932 to 1934. He died in Charlottetown at the age of 82.

William Stewart: was a businessman and political figure in Upper Canada and Canada West. In 1841, he ran against Stewart Derbishire, the candidate sponsored by Governor Lord Sydenham, to represent Bytown in the Legislative Assembly. Sydenham had persuaded all other candidates to withdraw. In 1843, he was elected to represent Russell in a by-election and he represented Bytown in the 2nd Parliament of the Province of Canada from 1844 to 1847. He proposed a canal linking the Ottawa River to Georgian Bay and drafted the bill incorporating Bytown. He was a member of the Bytown board of trade and a director for the Bank of British North America. He was a founding member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Ottawa.
