Roosevelt Skerrit: is a Dominican politician who has been Prime Minister of Dominica since 2004; he has also been the Member of Parliament for the Vieille Case constituency since 2000. Regionally, he has served as the Chairman of the OECS and most recently as Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) since January 2010. Roosevelt Skerrit became Prime Minister after the death of Pierre Charles in January 2004. At the time of Pierre Charles’ death, Roosevelt Skerrit was a member of parliament for the Vieille Case constituency, a position he had held since his election in February 2000. In addition to being the Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit also serves as Minister for Finance, Minister for Foreign Affairs and as the political leader of the Dominica Labor Party. Upon taking office Skerrit became the world's youngest head of government, surpassing Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. With his party's May 2005 election victory, Skerrit became the world's first democratically elected national leader born in the 1970s. As of December 2010 Skerrit remains the youngest head of government in the Western Hemisphere and the third youngest in the world, surpassed only by Madagascar's Andry Rajoelina and Montenegro's Igor Lukšic.

At the parliamentary elections on 31 January 2000 he led the Dominica Labour Party to victory against the governing United Workers Party of Prime Minister Edison James. He formed a coalition with the moderate Dominica Freedom Party and began office on 3 February 2000.

Roosevelt "Rosey" Brown, Jr.: was an American football offensive lineman in the NFL for the New York Giants from 1953 to 1965.Brown was drafted by the Giants out of Morgan State University in the 1953 NFL Draft after being noticed by the Giants in the Pittsburgh Courier, an African-American newspaper that named him to their 1952 Black All-American team. On the offensive line, Brown pass blocked for quarterbacks Charlie Conerly and Y.A. Tittle and run blocked for backs like Alex Webster and Frank Gifford. Despite his 6'3", 255-pound frame, Brown was very quick on his feet which was very unusual for his era. He is considered one of the greatest "sleeper picks" in NFL history as he was drafted in 27th round of the NFL Draft.[1]

John subsequently acquired what remained of the Hyde Park property Elliott had farmed with Eleanor Roosevelt. More importantly, the presence of John and his family enabled Eleanor Roosevelt to live at Val-Kill until her death in 1962. She saw John's children often and was particularly close to his daughter Sara "Sally" Roosevelt.
