George A. Rogers: is a politician from Leduc, Alberta. After serving on city council from 1992 to 1998, he was mayor of Leduc from 1998 to 2004. He is currently the MLA for the riding of Leduc-Beaumont-Devon. In 1986, Rogers joined the city of Leduc as assistant treasurer and after three years moved to Redcliff, Alberta, where, as municipal administrator, he handled the roles of secretary-treasurer and assistant town manager. In October 1998, he was elected mayor and re-elected in October 2001. Rogers was elected to his first term as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Leduc-Beaumont-Devon on November 22, 2004. On December 15, 2006, he was appointed a member of the Treasury Board. In addition to his role as MLA, he is deputy chair of the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Committee, and a member of the Private Bills Committee, the Standing Committee on Managing Growth Pressures and the Cabinet Policy Committee on Managing Growth Pressures.

Robert Rogers: was a Canadian merchant and politician. He served as a cabinet minister at both the federal and provincial levels. He contested Lisgar in the 1896 federal election as a candidate of the federal Conservative Party, and lost to Liberal Robert Lorne Richardson by fifty-four votes. Rogers was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba in the 1899 provincial election as a provincial Conservative candidate, defeating Liberal candidate J.L. Brown by twenty-eight votes in Manitou. The Conservatives won this election, and Rogers initially sat in the legislature as a backbench supporter of Hugh John Macdonald's administration. When Rodmond Palen Roblin succeeded Macdonald as premier on October 29, 1900, he appointed Rogers as a minister without portfolio. On December 20, 1900, Rogers was promoted to the powerful position of Minister of Public Works. He remained in this position for eleven years, and was often regarded as the second most powerful figure in Roblin's cabinet, helping the premier construct an effective patronage network. He was personally re-elected without difficulty in the campaigns of 1903, 1907 and 1910. Rogers was given additional responsibilities as Minister of Mines on March 30, 1912. On October 29, 1912, he left his other portfolios to become Canada's Minister of Public Works, a position which he held for a further five years. He did not seek re-election in 1917.

Born in County Monaghan, Ireland, his parents emigrated to Canada when he was an infant and settled in Prince Edward County, Upper Canada. Rogers was educated at the Kingston Collegiate Institute. A farmer, he settled in Frontenac County, Ontario. He was a Director and President of the Farmers' Institute and Agricultural Association. A member of the Patrons of Industry, a Canadian farmers' organization, he was acclaimed to the Canadian House of Commons for the electoral district of Frontenac in the 1896 federal election. He ran in the 1900 election as an independent candidate and was defeated.
