Osborne 'Ossie' McKenzie Fraser: was a politician in Nova Scotia, Canada. Born in Edwardsville, he was the son of Ernest Osborne Fraser from Edwardsville and Mary Kate MacKenzie from Beechmont. He was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in the 1978 provincial election and in the 1981 provincial election. He represented the electoral district of Cape Breton West and then Cape Breton The Lakes as a member of the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia until he died suddenly on October 29, 1982. Osborne Faser was also a veteran of World War II, serving in Germany, Holland, England, Africa and Belgium. He was the first recipient of the District 8 Citizen of the Year. He had one sister and was married to Mary Ruth Briscoe of Pembroke, Ontario and they had 8 children: Darlene (Kenneth) Morrison, Ruthie (Robert) Rose, Ronnie Fraser, Brian Fraser, Cathy Seale, Phillip Fraser, Bonnie Fraser and Chris Fraser.

Henry Fairfield Osborn: was an American geologist, paleontologist, and eugenicist, "a first-rate science administrator and a third-rate scientist."[1] Osborn was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, and studied at Princeton University. He was professor of comparative anatomy from 1883 to 1890 at Princeton. In 1891 he was hired jointly by Columbia University and the American Museum of Natural History, New York. He became professor of biology at Columbia University, becoming professor of zoology in 1896. At the museum he succeeded Morris K. Jesup as president in 1908, serving until 1933, during which time he accumulated one of the finest fossil collections in the world. He assembled a great team of fossil hunters and preparators, which included Roy Chapman Andrews, a gentleman allegedly a possible inspiration for the creation of the fictional archeologist Indiana Jones,
