Sir Mackenzie Bowell: was a Canadian politician who served as the fifth Prime Minister of Canada from December 21, 1894 to April 27, 1896. Bowell was first elected to the House of Commons in 1867, as a Conservative, for the riding of North Hastings, Ontario. He held his seat for the Conservatives when they lost the election of January 1874, in the wake of the Pacific Scandal.

Kenneth W. MacKenzie: was a politician in Alberta, Canada and a two-time mayor of Edmonton. In the 1898 election, MacKenzie was elected to Edmonton Town Council as an alderman. His term was for two years, but in 1899 he resigned from his position as alderman to run for mayor. He was acclaimed, and also faced no opposition to his 1900 re-election bid. At the conclusion of his term, he stayed out of municipal politics until the 1904 election, in which he was acclaimed to the office of mayor for a third time. This made him the first mayor of the city of Edmonton, which was incorporated in 1904 (Edmonton had hitherto been a town). After this, his last term as mayor, expired, MacKenzie became land agent for the Government of Canada, in which capacity he served until 1913. His only return to electoral politics occurred in 1912, when he was elected to the public school board (finishing first of seven candidates). He served until the expiration of his two year term, but did not seek re-election.

Ian Alistair Mackenzie: was a Canadian parliamentarian.When the Liberals returned to power through the 1935 election, Mackenzie returned to Cabinet as Minister of National Defence where he had the responsibility for pre-war rearmament. With the outbreak of World War II in 1939, however, Mackenzie was moved to the position of Minister of Pensions and National Health, in part because of his role in a scandal involving the awarding of a contract to manufacture the Bren Gun. In 1944, he became Minister of Veterans Affairs.

David "Dave" MacKenzie: is a Canadian politician. He is a current member of the House of Commons of Canada, representing the riding of Oxford, Ontario as a Conservative. He first ran for parliament in the federal election of 1997 as a Progressive Conservative, losing to Liberal John Finlay by 1,575 votes. He ran again in the election of 2000, and lost to Finlay by roughly the same margin. It may be noted that the national Progressive Conservative Party had a weak organization in Ontario during this period, and that Mackenzie's vote totals were well above the party's provincial average and that in both 1997 and 2000, the right wing vote was split between the Progressive Conservatives and Reform who later became the Canadian Alliance.
