Leopoldo Ruiz: was an Argentine professional golfer.During his career, Ruiz won the Argentine Professional Ranking four times, and competed in seven major championships, appearing five times in the British Open, from 1958 to 1961 and 1968, and twice in the Masters Tournament in 1962 and 1965. In 1958, he missed out on being in a playoff for the British Open title, when he had a triple bogey at the last hole at Royal Lytham & St Annes to finish tied for 5th place, three strokes off the leaders.[1][2] A year later, at Muirfield, he finished in a tie for 9th.

Leopoldo Bravo: was an Argentine politician and diplomat. As well as serving in the Argentine Senate and as Ambassador to the Soviet Union, he was a three-time governor of San Juan Province and considered a caudillo.Bravo qualified as a lawyer at the University of La Plata in 1942. At a young age Bravo joined the leadership of the Partido Bloquista, a provincial party which split from the Radical Civic Union in the time of Hipólito Yrigoyen. The founder of the party, Federico Cantoni, was rumoured to be Bravo's natural father. He worked in Moscow in the Argentine embassy. In 1953 he was appointed as Ambassador to the Soviet Union by President of Argentina Juan Perón, succeeding Cantoni, his rumoured father. He was one of the few ambassadors to have an interview with Joseph Stalin, and the last.

Leopoldo Melo: was an Argentine lawyer, diplomat and politician. He was a member of the Radical Civic Union political party, and served as senator and Minister of Internal Affairs.Leopoldo Melo was an important leader in the Radical Civic Union, heading the "antipersonalist" internal opposition to Hipólito Irigoyen. He was a lower representative at the Chamber of Deputies, a two-time senator for the Entre Ríos Province, and provisional senate president representing the Radical Union party.In 1924 [1], he formed the Antipersonalist Radical Civil Union. He became a presidential candidate in 1928, losing to Irigoyen. In 1931 he supported the candidacy of Agustín P. Justo and allied his Antipersonalist Radical Civil Union with the "Concordancia", becoming Interior Minister. Under his aegis the special branch of the Federal Police was created, starting to implement systematic torture of the opposition.[citation needed]

Leopoldo Torres Ríos: was an Argentine film director and screenwriter. His brother Carlos Torres Ríos was a notable cinematographer.Rios initially solely began as a screenwriter, writing for his first film Palomas rubias in 1920 but by 1923 he began siimultaneously directing and writing for his films, producing over 40 films between the early 1920s and 1959 when he was taken ill with lung cancer.

Leopoldo Máximo Falicov: was an Argentine theoretical physicist, specializing in the theory of condensed matter physics.Falicov attended the Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires and then attended the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, where he got his undergraduate degree in chemistry in 1957. In 1958, he received his undergraduate degree in physics from the then-recently created Institute of Physics, later known as the Balseiro Institute. He completed a Ph.D. in Physics at Cambridge University in England in 1959 under Professor Volker Hein.[2] He then became a professor at the University of Chicago.
