Jean Pelletier: was a Canadian politician, who served as the 37th mayor of Quebec City, Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister's Office, and chairman of Via Rail. He was a leading organizer of the Liberal Party of Canada. He won a seat as a municipal councillor in Quebec City on December 1976. He was elected mayor in 1977, serving for twelve years and two more elections. During his tenure as mayor, from 1977–1989, he improved rail service into the city, was instrumental in reviving the Lower Town and in having it designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Jean Auguste Ross: was a Canadian physician and politician. Born in Rimouski, Canada East, the son of John Ross and Caroline Talbot, Ross was educated at Ste. Anne and Rimouski Seminaries. He received his medical education from Université Laval and then started practicing medicine in Rimouski. He was also Coroner for the District of Rimouski and a Quarantine Officer for the port. He was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons for the electoral district of Rimouski in a 1897 by-election. A Liberal, he was re-elected in 1900, 1904, and 1908. He was defeated in 1911.

He vacated his provincial seat when he was appointed to the Senate of Canada in 1923. He served until his death in 1924 sitting with the federal Liberal caucus. Côté ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1909 Alberta general election. He stood as the Liberal candidate in the electoral district of Athabasca defeating incumbent Liberal candidate William Bredin in a hotly contested race. Côté ran for a third term in office in the 1917 Alberta general election. He significantly increased his popular vote winning a landslide in the two way race. After the election Côté was appointed to a provincial cabinet post in 1918. He assumed the responsibility of the Provincial Secretary position, and held it until his government was defeated in 1921.
