Herbert Howard Hash: (born February 13, 1911) was a Major League Baseball pitcher from 1940 to 1941 for the Boston Red Sox. He was born in Woolwine, Virginia. Subsequently he attended the University of Richmond and is a member of the University's Hall of Fame. He was signed by the Red Sox and was used extensively during the 1940 season making his first start on May 26, 1940 at Fenway Park.
