Odd Hassel: was a Norwegian physical chemist and Nobel Laureate.Germany to work in the laboratory of Professor Kasimir Fajans.[1] His work there lead to the detection of absorption indicators. After moving to Berlin, he worked at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute, where he began to research X-ray crystallography.[2] He furthered his research with a Rockefeller Fellowship, obtained with the help of Fritz Haber. In 1924, he obtained his PhD from the Berlin University, before moving to the University of Oslo, where he worked from 1925 through 1964, as a professor from 1934.[

Kai-Uwe Von Hassel: was a German politician from Schleswig-Holstein associated with the CDU party. In 1954-1963 he was Minister-President of Schleswig-Holstein. From 1955-1956, he was President of the German Bundesrat. He was closely associated with Ludwig Erhard's two Chancellorships, serving as Minister of Defense from 16 October 1963 to 1 December 1966. He then served in Kurt Georg Kiesinger's Chancellorship from 1 December 1966 to 21 October 1969 as "Minister of Displaced Persons, Refugees, and War Victims".
