Hans Jack Berliner: a Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, is a former World Correspondence Chess Champion, from 1965–1968. He is a Grandmaster of Correspondence Chess, and an International Master for over-the-board chess. He directed the construction of the chess computer HiTech. Berliner is also a chess writer.

Hans Joachim Wiehler: was a Prussian-born American botanist who specialized in the plant family Gesneriaceae. In 1954 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana and a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Goshen Biblical Seminary in 1956. He married in 1958 and remained in the United States for the rest of his life. He obtained a Master's degree in Botany from Cornell University and in 1979 a PhD in Botany from the University of Miami. Wiehler was on the staff of the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens from 1973 until 1982, when he left Selby to found the Gesneriad Research Foundation in Sarasota, Florida.

Hans Arthur Linde: a German American attorney and former jurist in the U.S. state of Oregon. Born in Germany, he also lived with his family in Denmark before immigrating to Portland, Oregon. After serving in the United States Army during World War II he graduated from college and law school. Linde then worked for Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, the United States Department of State, and as a law professor at the University of Oregon School of Law before appointment to the Oregon Supreme Court. He served on the court from 1977 to 1990 and is now a distinguished scholar in residence at Willamette University College of Law in Salem

Hans Hofmann: was a German-born American abstract expressionist painter. He was born in Weißenburg, Bavaria on March 21, 1880 the son of Theodor and Franziska Hofmann. In 1932 he immigrated to the United States, where he resided until the end of his life.According to the Hofmann biography at the Tate Gallery website [1], Hofmann's work is distinguished by "a rigorous concern with pictorial structure, spatial illusion, and color relationships."The Guggenheim Collection's information on Hofmann states that his "completely abstract works date from the 1940s" [2]. Hofmann believed that abstract art was a way to get at what was really important. He famously stated that "the ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak." [3]

Hans Namuth: was a German-born photographer. Namuth specialized in portraiture, photographing many artists, including abstract expressionist Jackson Pollock. His photos of Pollock at work in his studio increased Pollock's fame and recognition and led to a greater understanding of his work and techniques. Namuth used his outgoing personality and persistence to photograph many important artistic figures at work in their studios.Namuth photographed many other painters such as Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, and Mark Rothko and architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Philip Johnson, and Louis Kahn. Namuth focused on his rapport with his subjects, getting many reclusive figures such as Clyfford Still to agree to be photographed. Namuth's work not only captured his subjects in their studios with their works
