Ennis Whatley: is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Kansas City Kings in the 1st round (13th overall) of the 1983 NBA Draft. He attended Phillips High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He followed that with two seasons at the University of Alabama before declaring for the NBA Draft in 1983. While at Alabama, Whatley became a starter instantly as a freshman. He led the Crimson Tide to the SEC Tournament Championship in his freshman year in 1982 and a Sweet 16 appearance in the 1982 NCAA Tournament, where they lost to eventual champion North Carolina. In his sophomore season, Whatley led the Tide to nationally-televised regular season victories over national powers Georgetown, Kentucky, and UCLA, and another NCAA appearance. Whatley played in 10 NBA seasons. He played for the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Bullets, San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers. During the 1997-98 season, Whatley played for Zalgiris Kaunas and won the European Cup.
