Boyd Wheeler Bartlett: was an American military officer, professor, school administrator, and physicist.After Bartlett returned from Europe, he began a teaching career in physics at Bowdoin College as Professor of Physics. When World War II started, he was called up as a Colonel and assigned to the United States Military Academy. The head of the Physics Department there, Gerald Counts, was reassigned to Europe, and Bartlett stepped in as acting head of the Department. When Counts returned after the war, Bartlett served as deputy head of the Department, later, through a number of reorganizations and departmental name changes, he became head of the Department of Electricity, predecessor to the Department of Electrical Engineering. He retained this position until his retirement and promotion to Brigadier General in 1958.[3] [6]

She was appointed Minister of Education on October 1, 1990. She also received responsibility for Women's Issues on September 11, 1991, and launched a high-profile campaign against domestic abuse in the same year. She was transferred to the Ministry of Community and Social Services on October 15, 1991.

Nathaniel Boyd: was a Canadian politician. He first ran as the Conservative candidate for the Canadian House of Commons for the riding of Marquette in the 1891 federal election but was defeated. He was acclaimed in a 1892 by-election resulting from the resignation of the sitting MP, Robert Watson. He was re-elected in 1896 for the riding of Macdonald. The election was declared void in 1897 and Boyd did not run in the resulting by-election. He did run and win again in 1900 election and was defeated in 1904 election this time for the riding of Portage la Prairie.

John Boyd: was a businessman and the eighth Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick following Canadian confederation. Boyd was appointed to the Canadian Senate as a Liberal-Conservative (supporter of Sir John A. Macdonald) on February 11, 1880 and then to the position of lieutenant governor of New Brunswick on September 21, 1893 but served only a few months until his death on December 4, 1893.
