Anton Engelbert "Toni" Sailer: a former alpine ski racer, considered among the best ever in the sport's history.Nicknamed "Blitz from Kitz", Sailer was the first skier at the Winter Olympics to win all three alpine skiing events, taking gold in the downhill, slalom, and giant slalom at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. He was the fifth athlete to win three gold medals in the same Olympic games.Two years later, Sailer won three gold medals and one silver at the four-event 1958 World Championships in Bad Gastein, Austria. He retired from competition in 1959; from 1957-71, he appeared in a handful of movies, most of them shallow comedies at least partly set in alpine regions, with Sailer showing off his talent. From 1972-76, he was chief trainer and technical director of the Austrian Skiing Association (ÖSV).

Verena Sailer: is a German sprinter who specializes in the 100 metres. Her personal best time is 11.10 seconds, achieved when winning the final and taking the gold medal at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona. Sailer represented Germany at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She competed in the 4 x 100 metres relay together with Anne Möllinger, Cathleen Tschirch and Marion Wagner. In their first round heat they placed third behind Jamaica and Russia and in front of China. Their time of 43.59 seconds was the eighth time overall out of sixteen participating nations.

Johann Michael Sailer: was a German Jesuit professor of theology and Bishop of Ratisbon. Along with many others, he lost his position in 1781 when the Elector Charles Theodore transferred theological instruction to the monasteries. In the years 1781-84 while engaged in literary work he attracted the attention of the elector and Bishop Clement Wenceslaus, who in 1794 called Sailer to Dillingen as professor of pastoral theology and ethics, where today a high-school is named after him. Sailer held this position for ten years and brought him a high reputation.
