Roy McPipe: is an American former professional basketball player.A 6'3" guard from Eastern Montana College, McPipe played professional basketball with the American Basketball Association's Utah Stars in 1975. He had previously been drafted by the NBA in both 1973 (with the Los Angeles Lakers) and in 1974 (with the Washington Bullets) but decided to stay in school.

Roy Claxton Acuff: was an American country musician known around the world as the "King of Country Music".In 1936, he recorded his two most enduring songs, the traditional The Great Speckled Bird and The Wabash Cannonball. He debuted at the Grand Ole Opry two years later. He was booked as a fiddler, and he should have played the Turkey Buzzard for a square dancing segment, but he decided to try and sing The Great Speckled Bird. His decision was not well received, however. Acuff became a regular on the Opry, forming a backing band called the Smoky Mountain Boys, led by friend and Dobro player Bashful Brother Oswald. By 1940 he was the star of the show.

He starred at the University of Michigan, and in 1986 he was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the seventh pick of the NBA Draft. Tarpley made the NBA All-Rookie Team in his first season and seemed destined for success until his career was cut short in 1991, when he was expelled from the league for violating the NBA's drug-use policies.

Georges-Cyrias Roy: was a lawyer and political figure in Quebec. He represented Montmagny in the Canadian House of Commons from 1908 to 1911 as a Liberal. He was born in St-François de la Rivière-du-Sud, the son of Georges Roy and Henriette Corriveau. Roy was admitted to the Quebec bar in 1887 and practised in Montmagny. In 1899, he was named prothonotary for Montmagny district, sharing this title with Amédée Beabien until 1904; he resigned this position in 1908 to run for a seat in the House of Commons. In 1912, he became prothonotary again, this time with Cléophas Leclerc. Roy died in Montmagny at the age of 54.

Roy resigned from the House effective October 22, 2010 after having been largely absent from the House of Commons. He had been asked by Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe to make a decision as to his future due to his prolonged absences and announced in September that he would wait until after the Commons voted on a private members bill to abolish the long gun registry to resign so that he could vote for the registry's retention.
