Kyi Kyi Htay: was a four-time Myanmar Academy Award winning film actress, singer, opera performer and dancer. Kyi Kyi Htay was born in a small town of Letbadan in Bago Division in Lower Burma to Daw Ohn Kywe and U Po Yin. She took part in Burmese traditional opera, Zat Thabin, since her childhood and became famous under the name Aung Chin Ma Marla Yi. She crossed over to films in 1952, and won her first Burmese Academy Award with her debut film Chit Thet-Wai. She won three more Academy Awards for Chit Kwint Ma Paing in 1956, Nu Nu Nge Nge in 1970, and Lu Zaw in 1978.

Kyi Soe Tun: is a five-time Myanmar Academy Award winning film director, producer and screenwriter of Burmese cinema. He served as the chairman of the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization. Kyi Soe Tun is the son of Daw Hla and her husband U Tun in Yangon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Yangon University. He began his film career in 1977, and first served as director in 1980 in the film Chan Myay Pa Say.He won five national awards Academy.

Nai Shwe Kyin: was a Burmese civil rights revolutionary during the country's transition from British colonial rule and through the ensuing civil war between the insurgent ruling Burmese and the Mon minority. As a youth activist at the Rangoon University, Shwe Kyin founded the civil rights group "Mon Freedom League" and was jailed when civil war broke out on the eve of Burmese independence in 1948. In 1958, the MPF surrendered their arms in a pact with the Burmese ruling class to participate in elections as a legal political party. In defiance, Shwe Kyin refused to disarm and founded the New Mon State Party to continue an armed struggle. This group gained favor among young Mon students and eventually replaced the MPF as the primary Mon armed resistance. In 1990, he became the President of National Democratic Front (NDF), an umbrella political organization of ethnic nationalities.
