Sheila Chandra: an English pop singer of Indian descent.As a teenager she formed the band Monsoon, and created a fusion of Western (synthpop) and Indian pop styles. She married Steve Coe, who became the band's producer, and along with Martin Smith, the band evolved into this talented trio. They made a lone album Third Eye in 1982 from which they had a surprise hit single "Ever So Lonely". They followed-up with the single Shakti which peaked at #41, but this was to be the band's final charting single. Monsoon recorded a varied selection of songs. The album also includes a cover of The Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows", featuring the distinctive EBow guitar sound of Bill Nelson.

Vikram Chandra: an Indian writer who has won awards and critical acclaim for his novels and short stories. He is married to writer Melanie Abrams, who, like Chandra, teaches creative writing at the University of California, Berkeley. Chandra currently divides his time between Mumbai (Bombay), India and Oakland, California. He is often confused with his namesake Vikram A Chandra, journalist and author of The Srinagar Conspiracy.Chandra received his high school education at Mayo College in Ajmer, Rajasthan, and attended St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. As an undergraduate student, he transferred to the United States. He graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, California, with a magna cum laude B.A. in English (concentration in Creative Writing). Chandra then attended film school at Columbia University in New York, leaving halfway through to begin work on his first novel. He received his M.A. from The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins in 1987.

Kuntal Chandra: is a First class and List A cricketer from Bangladesh. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket keeper who is sometimes known by his nickname Papon. After playing for Bangladesh Under-19s in 1999/00 he made his debut for Chittagong Division in 2004/05 against Rajshahi Division, taking five catches and scoring 71 and 33. Despite this extremely promising beginning this has remained his only first class match. He also played in two List A one day matches in the same year.

Narayan Chandra: is a First class and List A cricketer from Bangladesh. He was born on 8 December 1979 in Narayanganj, Dhaka and is a right-handed batsman and right arm medium-fast bowler. He is sometimes referred to on scoresheets by his nickname Tapu. He played for Barisal Division in 2000/01 but found success hard to come by in both forms of the game.
