Norman Lewis Corwin: is an American writer, screenwriter, producer, essayist and teacher of journalism and writing. His earliest and biggest success was in the writing and directing of radio drama during the 1930s and 1940s.Corwin was among the first producers to regularly use entertainment -- even light entertainment -- to tackle serious social issues. In this area he was a peer to Orson Welles and William N. Robson, and an inspiration to other later radio/TV writers such as Rod Serling, Gene Roddenberry, Norman Lear and J. Michael Straczynski.

Norman Dello Joio: was an American composer.He was born Nicodemo DeGioio in New York City to Italian immigrants; the spelling "Gioio" was later anglicized to "Joio". He began his musical career as organist and choir director at the Star of the Sea Church on City Island in New York at age 14. His father was an organist, pianist, and vocal coach and coached many opera stars from the Metropolitan Opera. He taught Norman piano starting at the age of four. In his teens, Norman began studying organ with his godfather, Pietro Yon, who was the organist at Saint Patrick's Cathedral. In 1939, he received a scholarship to the Juilliard School of Music, where he studied composition with Bernard Wagenaar.

Norman Mack "Norm" Van Brocklin: Born in Parade, South Dakota to Mack and Ethel Van Brocklin, Norm became a career American football player and coach. Among his fans and fellow players, Norm was often called The Dutchman. As a quarterback he was known for brilliant field generalship and superb passing prowess. Although too slow to scramble outside the pocket, Van Brocklin was by some accounts the greatest long passer of all time. He was also a first rate punter in college and in the NFL. In 1971, ten years after retirement as a player, the Dutchman was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

In 1955, Mailer, together with Ed Fancher and Dan Wolf, first published The Village Voice, which began as an arts- and politics-oriented weekly newspaper initially distributed in Greenwich Village.
