Mohammed Al-Harraq Al-Alami: was a well known Soufi poet and teacher from Morocco.He was buried in his Zawiya near Bab Almaqabir. Sidi Al-Harraq was a pupil of Muhammad al-Arabi al-Darqawi, who he met in 1814. He wrote three diwans (collections of poetry).

Mohammed Ibn Amr Al-Ribati: was a Moroccan poet from Rabat. He initially worked as a kadi in Rabat and, after 1809, as a teacher in Marrakesh. His works include a diwan, a fahrasa and a rihla which have only partially been preserved. His fame rests for a part on al-Amriyya, a kafiyya made in an imitation of the Shamakmakiyya of Ibn al-Wannan.

Mohammed Ibn Rushayd: was a judge, writer and scholar of Hadith, born in Sabta, Morocco. He is especially famous as a traveller and author of a famous rihla. He was a near contemporary of Ibn Battuta (1304–1377) and the author of 18 works.

Mohammed Abed Al-Jabri: is a contemporary Moroccan critic and professor of philosophy and Islamic thought in Mohammed V University in Rabat. He is also an expert in Arabic and Arabic literature. He is considered one of the major intellectual figures in the contemporary Arab world.[1] He is also known for his academic project "The critique of the Arab Mind". He has published several influential books on the Arab philosophical tradition.
