John Duncan Arthur: was an South African boxer who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics.

John Mgwensi Mametsa: is the first black South African to have appeared in 100 Currie Cup rugby union games.[1]Making his Currie Cup debut in 2002, Mametsa was named Currie Cup player of the year in 2003.[1] During his 100th game against the Lions at Ellis Park Stadium on 21 June 2008, he scored three tries for the Bulls, and went on to score the most tries (7) by any Bulls player that year.[3] He was part of the Blue Bulls team that won the Currie Cup in 2003 and 2004, and that shared the trophy with the Vodacom Cheetahs in 2006.[1]

He was later picked twice for the South African rugby team but never received a cap, at the time he was playing for Transvaal. He also was a member of the Leinster Schools Cup winning side in The High School Dublin in 1973. He is now a well known radio presenter in South Africa on Talk Radio 702.
