Derrick Jonathon Dial: is an American professional basketball player who played in the NBA.Dial graduated from Cass Technical High School. Dial played for Eastern Michigan University before being drafted in the second round by the NBA's San Antonio Spurs in 1998. Dial played for the Spurs until 2001. After that he played for the Toronto Raptors for the 2001-02 season and then the Orlando Magic for the 2003-04 season. As of February 2008, he plays in the NBDL for Anaheim Arsenal. Derrick is now playing with the Tulsa 66ers in the NBADL averaging 15pts per game.

Derrick Joseph Chievous: is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Houston Rockets in the 1st round (16th overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft.Chievous played in the NBA from 1988-1991 for the Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers. His best season came during his rookie campaign as a member of the Rockets, when he appeared in 81 games and averaged 9.3 ppg. He played collegiately at the University of Missouri. He also played for Greek team Dafni between 1994-1996.

The 6' 4", 181-lb. point guard rose to prominence while playing college basketball for coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina. Phelps was never drafted by an NBA team, but did play in three games for the Sacramento Kings in the 1994/95 season.[1] The Vancouver Grizzlies selected him in the 1995 expansion draft, but he did not play for them before they renounced his NBA rights in 1996. He has also spent some time during pre-season (but not in any NBA games) with the Milwaukee Bucks (1994) and Philadelphia 76ers (1997). In 2006/07 season he played in the Russian Basketball Super League for Spartak Primorie Vladivostok.

Derrick Wayne McKey: is a retired American basketball player who played the most part of his NBA career between the small forward and the power forward positions.McKey attended Meridian High School in his Mississippi hometown, where he excelled on the team's basketball squad. In addition to being a star basketball player in high school, he was a shortstop on the baseball team despite being 6'10". He attended the University of Alabama for three years, leading the Tide to a regional No. 1 seed in 1986-87 and to the Sweet 16 (where they were eliminated by Providence). He played for the US national team in the 1986 FIBA World Championship, winning the gold medal.[1]

He played in the NBA D-League for the Columbus Riverdragons (2004-05) and Austin Toros (2005-06). On December 2006 he signed a one month contract with Brose Baskets Bamberg in the German Basketball Bundesliga. After his contract expired, he signed with Italian team Air Avellino until the end of the season.

He was educated at Douai School 1934-39, and at Magdalen College, Oxford, 1940 and 1945-47, his studies being interrupted by service in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. From 1953 to 1965 he was on the administrative staff of the University of London, as well as working as a publisher's reader. Thereafter he worked independently as a literary adviser to various publishers, as a book reviewer, and as a writer and lecturer. He died on 2 October 2007 at the age of 86.
