Mirwais Yasini: the current First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of the Afghan Parliament. Following the Communist coup in 1978, Mirwais Yasini worked actively to combat the Soviet invasion, and went on to oppose the Taliban from 1993 to 2001 as a social and political activist. After the fall of the Taliban regime in 2002, Yasini began his political career as the Director of Foreign Relations and Economic Evaluation for Afghanistan's Ministry of Finance, and as a prominent member of the Emergency Loya Jirga, which met in Kabul. Since that time he has held several high-level political posts, including such titles as the First Deputy Speaker of the Constitutional Loya Jirga and Director General of the Counter Narcotics Department.

Mirwais Ashraf: is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler who plays for Afghanistan. Ashraf made his ODI debut against the Netherlands at the VRA Cricket Ground on 30 August 2009. Ashraf also made his first class debut against the same opponents in Afghanistan's debut match in the Intercontinental Cup, where in the Netherlands second innings he took 4/24 to help set up an historic Afghan win by one wicket.

Mirwais Ahmadzaï: is a Paris-based record producer and songwriter. He was born in Switzerland to an Afghan father and an Italian mother. He is a leader in the French style of progressive electronic dance music/progressive electronica. A former member of the defunct 1980s group Taxi Girl, he was re-discovered by Madonna in the late 1990s when he submitted a demo to her then-record label Maverick Records.[1]
