Hafiz Ali Khan: was an Indian Sarod player.[2] He was a tall figure in twentieth-century sarod music. A fifth-generation descendant of the famous Bangash Gharana of sarod players, Hafiz Ali was known for the lyrical beauty of his music and the crystal-clear tone of his strokes. The occasional critic has, however, observed that Khan's imagination was often closer to the semi-classical thumri idiom than the austere dhrupad style prevalent in his times.

Mirza Ghulam Hafiz: was a prominent statesman, politician, and philanthropist in Bangladesh.Hafiz was an active organizer of the Language Movement on two separate occasions--in 1952 and again in 1954--and was jailed both times. In 1954, he was elected to the Provincial Assembly in Bengal as a representative of the Ponchagarh district. He would serve in government positions until Bangladesh's independence in 1971, a revolution in which he was personally involved (as an honorary colonel in the Bengal Rifles State Guard).

Nezam Ahmed Hafiz: was a Guyanese first class cricketer who played for the USA. A middle order batsman, made his debut in the 1988/89 West Indian domestic season, playing 3 times for Guyana in the Red Stripe Cup. He played again a couple of seasons later before emigrating to the United States. Hafiz was killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. He had been working on the 94th floor of Tower One where he worked for insurance company Marsh and McLennan.
