Susan Solomon: an atmospheric chemist working for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.[2] Solomon was one of the first to propose chlorofluorocarbons as the cause of the Antarctic ozone hole.[2]Solomon is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, the European Academy of Sciences, and the Academy of Sciences of France.[3]Solomon began her interest in science as a child watching The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau.[1] In high school she placed third in a national science fair, with a project that measured the percent of oxygen in a gas mixture.[1]

Susan Lindquist: a well-known molecular biologist studying (among other things) the biology of protein folding, heat-shock proteins, and prions. Lindquist is a member and former Director of the Whitehead Institute.Lindquist is best known for her research that provided strong evidence for a new paradigm in genetics based upon the inheritance of proteins with new, self-perpetuating shapes rather than new DNA sequences. This research provided a biochemical framework for understanding other mysteries in biology, such as Alzheimer's disease and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Susan Olivia Poole'': grew up in Minnesota at the White Earth Indian Reserve. Susan Olivia (Davis) Poole, a.k.a. Olivia was born in 1889 and died in 1975. She was part Ojibway and a talented pianist who studied music at Brandon College in Manitoba, Canada where she met her husband, Delbert Poole, who was studying for the ministry.As a child Olivia watched her elders strap their babies to cradle boards to carry them as ‘papooses’. While working in the fields, a mother would often hang the papoose on a sturdy tree limb and soothe the baby by occasionally pulling on the limb to cause a bouncing motion.

It led directly to the establishment of the Courts Service, which she chairs.Susan Denham was born in Dublin in 1945 and educated in Trinity College Dublin, Columbia University and the King's Inns. Justice Denham practiced as a barrister from 1971 and worked on the Midland circuit for 8 years thereafter she just based herself in Dublin. She was involved in a number of leading cases whilst a junior barrister and a senior counsel particularly in the area of judicial review. She became a High Court judge in 1991 and came to wider attention in 1992 when she was the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court.

Susan Weil: an American artist best known for her experimental three-dimensional paintings, which combine figurative illustration with explorations of movement and space. In the late 1940's Weil was involved in a relationship with Robert Rauschenberg. The two met while attending the Academie Julian in Paris, and in 1948 both decided to attend Black Mountain College in North Carolina to study under Josef Albers. Robert Rauschenberg and Susan Weil were married in the summer of 1950. Their son, Christopher was born on July 16, 1951. The two separated in June 1952 and divorced in 1953.

Luciano Sušanj: is a Croatian politician, sports worker and former track athlete who competed for Yugoslavia. Sušanj was successful in international competition over 400 and 800 meters, but is best known for winning the 800 meters European title in 1974. In the 1990s Sušanj started a political career, winning a seat in the Croatian Parliament in 1990 and 2000. In 2000 he was elected president of the Croatian Athletics Federation, and vice-president of the Croatian Olympic Committee. Until 1990, the year he entered politics, Sušanj was employed as a sports worker in Rijeka. In the first democratic election in Croatia, he obtained a seat in the Croatian Parliament and served as an MP until 1992. In the 1990s, he served as deputy-mayor of Rijeka and president of the Alliance of Primorje-Gorski Kotar, a regional party active in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. In 2000 Sušanj was again elected to the Croatian Parliament, and became president of the Croatian Athletics Federation and vice-president of the Croatian Olympic Committee. In 2002 he ran for the president of the Croatian Olympic Committee, but lost to Zlatko Mateša. In 2003, Sušanj left the Alliance of Primorje-Gorski Kotar over disagreements with its president Nikola Ivaniš, and entered the newly-formed Autonomous Regional Party (Croatian: Autonomna regionalna stranka), of which he was a co-founder.
