He left behind his wife and two children. Moni Singh-Farhad Memorial Trust, which was established to keep his legacy alive now serves as a popular center of intellectuals and free thinkers in Bangladesh.

Ghulam Mohammad Farhad: was an Afghan engineer and Pashtun nationalist.[citation needed] He lived in Germany on a royal scholarship from 1921 to 1928, training as an electrician at the Technical University of Munich. During his studies in Germany, he came in contact with Nazi policy and became fascinated by some aspects of it.[1] After he returned to Afghanistan, Farhad was appointed to several electricity-related posts in the government, finally serving as president of the Kabul Electric Company from 1939 to 1966. He traveled to Germany in 1947 to acquire equipment; he was often accused of favoring German-manufactured products. From 1948 to 1954, he was mayor of Kabul. He notably installed the city's first traffic lights and declared a switch to right-hand driving. In 1966, Farhad created the Afghan Social Democratic Party (also known as Afghan Mellat or "Afghan Nation") on the bases of Pashtun nationalism, social democracy, and anticommunism. He was elected to Parliament, representing the sixth district of Kabul, in 1968, but resigned his seat in 1970. He was later a political prisoner of the PDPA/Khalq government from 1979 to 1980, when he was freed in a general amnesty.

Ravan A. G. Farhâdi: was the Ambassador to the United Nations for Afghanistan. He is an ethnic Tajik from Panjshir. He first assumed this position in 1993, renewing his appointment on 11 January 2002.His tenure as Ambassador ended in December 2006.Ravan Farhâdi worked as a diplomatic carrier from 1956 to 1973. He then took a position as a professor in the History of Persian Literature at the Sorbonne in 1981, and then at the Department of Near East Studies, University of California, Berkeley, from 1985 to 1993. At Berkeley, he taught subjects ranging from Persian Literature to Islamic medieval mysticism. In 1993, he became the Ambassador of Afghanistan to the United Nations. Currently, he is heavily involved in Palestinian rights.
